If anyone caught Dua Lipa at Glasto 2024, we heard her speak to manifesting and claim that her manifestation brought her to one of the headline slots on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury.
What is manifestation?
Manifestation is the concept of sending your request out to the universe, raising the vibration and the universe will deliver it. Hold up?!?! What a lot of hocus pocus I hear you say?
Actually, I did a lot of reading this week and there is something here, bear with while I share my learns.
You might not actually realise this but you already manifest, where you are today is as a total result of your manifestations from the past, how you see yourself, how you see the world and what you can and can't do. It's our belief system that really creates where we are today. For example, my own belief that I am no good at ball sports, probably stems from school trauma of never been picked for any team. Which, to be honest had little to do with the fact I wasn't any good at sport, but that then perpetuated through my school life where I avoided any form of team sport convinced that I wasn't any good. This still exists to this day, the thought of playing netball, attempting to hit a golf ball, a tennis ball fills me with absolute dread and anxiety. Every attempt and subsequent failed hit or catch of a ball I nervously laugh off once. I wonder how different life may have been in my sporting life had this belief been a little different!
"You might not actually realise this but you already manifest, where you are today is as a result of your manifestations from the past"
Manifestation; tell me more
Ok so check, you're onboard, so let's start making a wish.... Easy right? No, it's not that straightforward and it's not a wish-list! We aren't rubbing a lamp to get a genie to grant your every wish.
Despite how it may have been positioned, it is not going to happen open overnight. It takes time and you need to work for it. There is more to it than simply asking for something, you have to project your thoughts, beliefs and identity out into the physical world and it's about retraining your subconscious.
The idea of manifestation isn't that it will make you a millionaire overnight, au contraire it's as likely to make me an international sports star at the aged of 44, but more that if we see life with a little more joy and happiness then that is what you experience. For example, if I can think and retrain my subconscious into thinking I am good at ball sports then that is what I will start to experience, because if successfully manifested I'll be more confident in my approach, make myself more open to opportunities to try and hey presto!

If we can kick start this belief system, what we project out into the world, we will attract those experiences. That is where the conflict comes, you truly have to believe this and that you are deserving of it, this is what you need to overcome in this process. If we believe we are in a loving relationship then we will look for those postive signs that are there. If we believe the opposite we are going to look for signals that re-enforce our beliefs, the fact is you ignored all the small symbols of caring, the morning cup of tea brought to you, the pick up from the train station late at night. Your brain looks for cues and ways to experience what we believe to be true.
"Where the conflict comes in is that you believe you aren't deserving of this, and that is what you need to overcome."
Starting to blog, write and post, some of the most limiting beliefs have been that "no one wants to listen to me rabbit on, I have nothing interesting to say, it's embarrassing to share so much of yourself, what will people think." That is purely subconscious. If I start to believe that I can succeed and have something worth sharing, then I will keep taking action to make it happen. My desire, to have a higher following on social (1,000 followers please!), more engagement on my blog and a few more sign ups. If I don't believe that is possible then I will simply become paralysed in writing posts, slow down in my activity and will never drive any sign ups or following. It's self perpetuating and starts with your beliefs.
Manifestation; a few tips on how to get started;
What is it you want/desire? Me, a few more followers please, some sign ups to my blog to enable me to start to create a life I love. It's important to know what you really want. Ideally, you need to know your values and what is important to you. Completing the Japanese Ikigai exercises might be of help here to find your reason for being, what you love in life and what you value.
What is the intention to get it? Like with any desire there needs to be a plan, what do you need to get your desire? What tools, skills? Make yourself available to opportunities.
What is the new version of you that is needed to get this? Align your subconscious with your desire and replace those conflicting thoughts with postive supportive ones, be kind to yourself. How about creating a board on Pinterest here? What does this look like, what does the person you want to be look and feel like? What do they read, what activities do they participate in? Try journalling too to keep yourself on track and keep re-training that subconscious with positive affirmations.
Keep at this until your want manifests, keep taking action to make it happen and course correct that subconscious. Eat, sleep, repeat. This is not an overnight fix, you need to continually manifest, visualise and create.
So there you have it my friends, a brief intro to manifestation, some tips to get started. Go forth and manifest and while you've stopped by - press "sign up" on my blog, add a little Follow on Social on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
